Prayer

Prayer is the act of communicating with God (also referred to as a higher power). It can involve speaking, listening, thanking, praising, confessing, asking for help, or simply being still in God's presence.

People pray for many reasons, including:

• To worship and praise God

• To express gratitude for blessings

• To seek forgiveness for mistakes

• To ask for guidance, strength, or help

• To pray for others

• To deepen their relationship with God

• To seek financial help

From a Christian perspective, prayer is not just about asking for things—it is about building a personal relationship with God. As with most things in life the more consistent we are doing anything the better we get at it. As we sit quietly before we start to pray it helps to quiet the mind and gives us time to think about why we are praying, what do we want to achieve from these prayers we are about to say.

The Lord’s Prayer is a good prayer to start with; think about the words you are saying do not rush take your time as this will help to raise your vibration and in turn help you to align more easily with the vibration of God. If you have a specific thing or person you are praying for speak to God as if he/she was a friend, think about how life would be if what you are praying for was resolved, how happy, grateful and relieved you would be.

World peace is built not only through our leaders but through the way we behave towards each other sending out Love and Light to all through prayer, acts of kindness. Forgiveness and care helps to raise the vibration on earth which in turn will help us to move into a more peaceful loving world.

The Peace Prayer

Oh God we beseech Thee that Thy
peace may be brought to this earth; that
the ministers of Thy nations, and the
Churches of Thy nations may feel the
power of that peace, and that war among
nations may cease.

PAUSE

Oh Lord, give us brotherhood between
men; fill the hearts of all Thy people
with love.

PAUSE

We ask Thee to give unto Thy messengers
the power to influence and urge the coming
of peace and goodwill on earth.

Amen
